Music and Motivation Go Hand in Hand

Help me give my students an outdoor portable PA system with a wireless microphone to provide extrinsic motivation to our students through music. This system will also ensure students are engaged and able to hear all directions outdoors.

My Students

In middle school physical education, we strive to provide engaging lessons that motivate students to become active, lifelong learners. Motivating students in middle school can be a challenging task. We are in need of motivation techniques to help progress our students to have a better mindset in P.E.

At Irmo Middle School, our students come to us from all walks of life: different cultural backgrounds, diverse academic experiences and abilities, and a variety of levels of knowledge and skills.

My Project

In Physical Education, we use music as an extrinsic motivation tool to increase student engagement. Music is also a part of our daily routines and procedures, signaling students to stop and listen or actively participate. In doors, we also use a microphone system to ensure students are able to receive all directions, cues, and feedback.

With the need to provide more instruction outdoors to keep our students safe and active, we are looking for ways to keep students engaged.

The Bluetooth speaker with a microphone would allow us to give our students this same learning atmosphere outdoors.
