Hooray! This project is fully funded

We're 5th grade teachers in an inner-city school in Albany, New York and there is a tremendous resource that is available to us. The Scotia-Glenville Children's Museum is "an-all-traveling museum without walls" that will travel right to our classrooms. They provide exhibit-based participatory programs in the arts and sciences to thousands of students every year. The programs are hands-on, curriculum based, age appropriate, and directly linked to the New York State Standards. We feel that these programs are very beneficial to our students because they allow them to experience learning using resources that we don't have the ability to provide. Each museum educator is an expert within their specific discipline and can provide a unique educational experience for our students. For the reasons stated above, we would like the fifth-grade classes to be funded for the following programs; "All Aboard the Underground Railroad!", "Canada, Our Neighbor to the North", Journey Through the Solar System", and "Rocks to Riches". Each of these programs are directly linked to the grade five NYS Standards for Social Studies and Science. As teachers who continue to seek fun and interesting ways to engage our children in learning, we recognize the value of these programs and appreciate your assistance with helping the museum come to us!
