I currently teach math intervention to students in grades 6, 7, and 8 at KMS on the big island of Hawaii. Math intervention is a class for students who are below grade for math and struggling with some of their basic math facts and foundational elementary math skills.
COVID-19 affected all students but especially those who were already below grade level: these games and manipulatives will help my students better understand and enjoy math in light of the setbacks they faced due to COVID-19!
I find that the majority of these students are motivated to learn and achieve at grade level with their peers. It is exciting to see my students light up when they "get it" and want to keep practicing!
