Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school's vision is HEART: Healthy Choices, Empowerment, Academic Achievement, Respect and Responsibility, and Teamwork. As a means of achieving the various parts of our vision, we aim to provide our Roseland Leaders with fulfilling experiences in which they can come to develop cultural competency and an appreciation for varying cultures.
I want to provide all students with the opportunity to learn about cultures outside of their own through hands-on craft stations during our Multicultural Fair.
Many of our students have limited opportunities to visit areas outside of their immediate community. During our Multicultural Fair, students will have time to "travel" from table to table, learning about other countries and cultures through activities, games and fun facts. Activities will include basket weaving, maasai necklaces, and pyramid building in teams!
Your contribution will help our Leaders: welcome diversity, develop a sense of empathy and understanding, and expand their knowledge of world cultures!
