They can stay engaged for hours. The other wonderful thing about Badminton is that each student gets their own piece of equipment. They are in charge of their experience. No one is going to 'steal the racket' from them, like can happen in basketball or soccer. It's just so fulfilling! The students love, love, love the nets, the rackets and the birdies. The children will also make their own scene around the stickers they have chosen, and then they'll be able to let their creative juices flow while they're writing. The magnetic sentence strips are going to be a great asset for writing prompts sorting phonics on the board. The magnetic strips will also be used for as an exit ticket from our classroom before recess. The plastic fingers will be used as reader pointers, and the students will have a lot of fun using these to help track reading in the classroom both as a class and during independent reading time. Displaying student work is so very important for the self-esteem of the kids. They love to see their work displayed in the classroom! Because of the lack of space in the room, it's really important to be able to have the heavy duty wire to string across the classroom to be able to display their work. Having the command strip tape is essential for hanging larger, heavier items onto the walls without damaging the walls. The markers are used during independent work time and during instruction time on the carpet. The plastic sleeves, I use in the classroom daily. I provide the students with activity mats and I slide those into the plastic sleeves.
