I imagine only good things to come for years and years with this project! The students were ELATED with excitement when they first saw all 12 of the Strider Bikes in their P.E. Classroom. \r\n\r\nThe first week, the TK and Kinder students (ages 4-5 years old) enjoyed learning about the Strider Bikes, and putting their legs over them to sit on the seat and ride them. The nerves, the excitement, and the elation were unmatched. \r\n\r\nOne of the next steps for my students is to have them keep practicing throughout the school year, and onward toward the next grade level. We have high hopes that they will all be able to ride bicycles by the time they are in 2nd grade. \r\n\r\nNearly 100 students have been impacted by this project, and all of the other grade levels (2nd-6th grade) on campus have seen them, and are getting excited about riding bicycles themselves. The magnetic sentence strips are going to be a great asset for writing prompts sorting phonics on the board. Displaying student work is so very important for the self-esteem of the kids. They love to see their work displayed in the classroom! Because of the lack of space in the room, it's really important to be able to have the heavy duty wire to string across the classroom to be able to display their work. Having the command strip tape is essential for hanging larger, heavier items onto the walls without damaging the walls. The markers are used during independent work time and during instruction time on the carpet. The plastic sleeves, I use in the classroom daily. I provide the students with activity mats and I slide those into the plastic sleeves.
