When they walked into the classroom, they were welcomed by soft music and the colorful learning materials at their tables. As they settled themselves into the room, they opened their tubs and began molding, squishing and stretching their dough. Conversations began as I walked around the room doing my morning check-ins with each child. They enjoyed these materials so much we used them again for the rest of the week. After that initial first week of using the dough and supplies, these tubs were brought out daily as part of our soft morning start rotation and were often chosen during Free Choice time at the end of each day. \r\nAlong with the success of the playdough, the colored pencils have been used for our end-of-the-year projects, Open House activities, and our buddy class thank you cards! I have some students who read very well, a couple of non-readers, and everything in between. I struggle to motivate them, as I compete with screens. So, when I came across this series of books, I thought it would be fun to try them out with my class. They were a hit. I loved reading books to them. They sat on the floor like little kids, made predictions, and just enjoyed reading simple, silly books. It was fun. And it excited them that there were several in the series. \r\n\r\nAgain, we appreciate your contribution to our class.
