This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our pre-k classroom has a shortage of multi-ethnic materials in the dramatic play area.

I work at pre-k program within Los Angeles Unified School District titled Locke Early Education Center.

This center is located in South Central Los Angeles in a low-income urban community. A large percentage of the children I serve are from single parent households. My bright student have a daily opportunity to interact with peers from various ethnic backgrounds. The multi-ethnic materials will help my students better understand each other and encourage social growth.

My Project

Due to budget cuts in our pre-k program within the Los Angeles Unified School District Early Education Division, we need assistance in acquiring multi-ethnic materials in our classroom. By funding this project you will help to fill this void and help our pre-k students grow in their social development.

By having a variety of multi-ethnic materials in our pre-K environment the children will learn and appreciate other cultures besides their own.

The pre-K students will learn that although there are differences, they can live in harmony. Introducing multi-ethnic dolls will give the students a chance to role play with their friends and therefore grow socially at the same time.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
