This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Ms. T., I can't see!" Already this year, I hear this a lot in my class when we are completing graphic organizers and worksheets or when I am showing how many base-ten blocks represent a number.

My 2nd graders attend a Title I school in Maryland and are anxious to learn and grow their brains!

About 2/3 of my class are ESOL students and are working very hard to improve their English. A document camera would be very helpful as it it would help them to better see the visual of what I am doing, something that is important for all students and especially important for ELLs!

My Project

My students are being exposed to many new graphic organizers in 2nd Grade Language Arts and are having difficulty seeing what goes where. I also often give Word Banks to help students during writing, but several students have difficulty seeing what I have written up on the board. A document camera will help them to see all these things and more, up close, in pencil-to-paper handwriting.

Donations will make a difference because students will have a much easier time understanding what exactly their classwork should look like in all subjects.

It will allow every student to better access my teaching.
