This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The students I teach are from an economically challenged environment. Most of my students come from one-parent homes and the income generated in their household is usually on or below the poverty level. Our school is 100% free lunch and it is a title one school. Supplies for the classroom are needed frequently! As teachers, we do get a modest amount to spend for supplies but it's usually gone by the 2nd month of school. Educators spend countless dollars trying to provide students with unforgettable experiences in the classroom. Parental involvement is very meek. Our school has about 25% PTA participation, so I have to fill in the gaps to help my students succeed in almost all aspects of their lives.
With 2nd semester among us, various classroom supplies dwindle and I find myself running to the store every weekend to keep our classroom running smoothly.
Our major goal is to help students reach their highest potential with the necessary tools needed to aid in their success. 180 days I dedicate myself to encourage, motivate, inspire, and teach to the best of my ability but I can't do so without the proper materials to help.
My Project
By donating these items to my classroom, my students can continue to complete various assignments and tasks. To keep our classroom running smoothly is our goal and to always provide basic necessary equipment for student success.
To keep germs at bay disinfected spray, tissues, and cleaning wipes will help aid in the fight against illnesses.
Our classroom managers clean and tidy up our classroom numerous times a day.
Dry erasers, pencils, paper, and crayons help during writing. Having various writing utensils helps students have a choice in expressing what they prefer to use.
The items selected are just a small but appreciative amount of some of the classroom items that will help our classroom be successful. Thanks so much!
