Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are creative, bright and enthusiastic about learning! They are a diverse group of students, each with a different background and home life. For many, school is their safe place.Students are greeted with a hug each morning and leave with the same every afternoon.

I am grateful to work with these students each day.

They are eager to learn and succeed. Each day I strive to create engaging lessons and activities for my students. Students in this classroom are preparing to be lifelong learners.

My Project

Flexible seating gives students options. I have found that students enjoy reading independently more so when given the option to read away from their desk. The floor seats offer a comfortable way for students to enjoy with a good book. Students love using the lap desks to complete writing in our classroom. Students are able to take their paper and pencil and choose where they want to work. Giving students these choices encourages students to take ownership of their own learning and success.
