Mrs. Wampler's Magic Table

Help me give my students a small group table with chairs. This way they can learn in a more personalized way.

My Students

Walking into our classroom you notice one thing. We are all working hard to learn. Students are independent, engaged, and eager to experience new things. As a teacher in a middle-class majority school, teachers do not receive federal funding that allows the students to have advanced technology in the classroom. Although my school doesn't qualify, my individual classroom certainly does. My classroom is not representative of the majority of the school population. In my class of eighteen, half of the class have special needs ranging from ADHD, Learning disabilities, sensory processing disorder, and English Language Learners. Also, over thirty-three percent of my class qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.

Students with all levels of abilities, socio-economic status, and challenges require motivation and engagement to be successful academically.

I teach Math and Science for two classes serving forty-one students. I am working hard to provide all my students with the opportunity to produce using technology, instead of just consuming by playing online games. For some of my students, school is the only place they have quality educational experiences using technology.

My Project

By donating to our project, you will increase each students' academic achievement. Learning along with 20 others can sometimes be a bit distracting. Students that struggle will benefit the most. I will gather the students at my "magic table" to learn with me.

Research has shown that small group instruction is very beneficial to all learners.

They will be learning with peers of the same academic level and have me right there to correct any misconceptions. In math, I need to see how they are thinking and a small group table and chairs will help me meet with my students each day without sitting on the floor.
