Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are sweet, curious, and energetic! They are true Kindergarten students. They're inspiring, they're learning, they're ready to take Kindergarten on, full speed ahead. I am excited to wake up each day to see their smiling faces. I know that when I go into our classroom that it's going to be a great day because of my students.
My students are driven by a love for learning, writing, and reading new books.
They love working with numbers in math, hands on activities, as well as music and movement. They're amazing human beings and I'm so honored that I get to teach them this school year.
My Project
Having a choice on where to sit will help my students to make excellent choices, as well as to trust me because I am trusting them with making a choice to best suit their needs. I’m order to do this, we will use soft seats, bean bags, individual carpet squares, as well as a big carpet space for this to happen. I am in the business of working with little humans. This means that I am getting them ready with the basics needed to read, write, complete math activities, as well has how to care, share, be kind, and how to become a successful human in our society.
I provide students with a warm, nurturing, safe place to learn, which includes choosing the appropriate place to sit in order for their learning to occur.
Sometimes, students need to take a break and be away from other people, just like adults do. When providing my students with options on where to sit, you're providing them the opportunity to grow socially by expressing themselves. It may seem minute, but this is how to build character in individuals. By listening to them and showing them respect, by allowing them to make choices and to have consequences, both good and bad, based on the choices that they make.
