This hands-on approach directly helped the students build crucial fine motor skills.\r\n\r\nAcademic Advancement: Gaining these motor skills served as a foundation that allowed students to excel in learning new academic skills, specifically in math and phonics. This improvement shows a clear link between motor development and cognitive progress.\r\n\r\nConfidence and Engagement: The positive impact extended beyond academics. Gaining new fine motor skills was instrumental in helping students gain new confidence. This increased confidence helped them become active learners and ultimately resulted in them showing continued growth across all areas.\r\n\r\nIn summary, the donation did more than provide materials; it served as a catalyst that transformed the students into more capable, confident, and actively engaged learners.","fullyFundedDate":1731350120365,"projectUrl":"project/hands-on-learning-fun-activities-for-fi/8865617/","projectTitle":"Hands-On Learning: Fun Activities for Fine Motor Development","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Monika Vij","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9797649"},{"teacherId":2372988,"projectId":9364598,"letterContent":"The students in my classroom are over the moon about the cushions you purchased for them! During independent reading time, the students love to grab cushions and sit on the floor around the room or find a little quiet nook for reading.\r\n\r\nIn addition, they are using the grid/graph paper and notebooks during math to help organize their work and show their thinking. It's been a great support for students that struggle to keep idea organized or place value lined up when doing calculations. \r\n\r\nWe also had a blast playing an organized class game of dodgeball to give them a brain break. (YES, dodgeball can be safe if you follow the rules!) Your support has made a meaningful impact in our classroom—one that goes far beyond just providing technology. It changed the way students experience movement, self-assessment, and learning in PE.\r\n\r\nFrom the moment we introduced the iPads, students were immediately engaged. They were excited to film themselves, run back to the tripod, and watch their movements in real-time. For many of them, this was the first time they could truly see what they were doing—from their posture and foot placement to their timing and technique. Having the ability to self-review with a video recording made a huge difference in how they understood and improved their performance.\r\n\r\nWe paired the iPad recordings with student-friendly rubrics, and the results were impressive. Instead of waiting for feedback from a teacher, students began identifying areas of strength and areas they wanted to improve. It gave them ownership over their learning. I watched students become more focused, more aware, and more confident. They were able to recognize, \"Oh, I'm not following through with my arms,\" or, \"I'm turning too early.\" Those moments of realization—of learning through doing and seeing—are priceless.\r\n\r\nThis tool didn't just benefit our natural athletes. In fact, it may have had the greatest impact on students who normally don't love PE. We all know that not every student is excited about running laps on the blacktop or playing games on the grass. But when we brought out the iPads, those same students were the first to volunteer to try an activity, record it, and check their progress. It gave them a sense of purpose and a different kind of motivation. Technology helped level the playing field, allowing all students to engage in a way that felt relevant and personal.\r\n\r\nYour donation also encouraged collaboration. Students worked together to film, give each other feedback, and even compare clips to model good technique. It created an environment where students supported one another—cheering when someone nailed a movement and helping when someone needed encouragement. It's been such a positive shift, and it wouldn't have happened without this donation.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our students, in their growth, and in their confidence. You've given us a tool that supports skill development and social-emotional learning at the same time. You've helped us bring PE into the 21st century in a way that still keeps kids moving but also thinking and reflecting. Most importantly, you've shown them that their education matters—and that people they've never even met are cheering them on.","fullyFundedDate":1551404800821,"projectUrl":"project/pe-and-tech-on-the-play-ground/3930789/","projectTitle":"P.E.
