I teach fourth grade. My students were in second grade the year that they were first impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. They returned to school last year following all of the safety requirements excited to be back at school. This year, my fourth grade team and I are able to share our students among our grade level to differentiate our instruction and do group activities for the first time in a long time. My fourth graders have worked hard at games, task cards, STEM investigations, and other cooperative learning activities this year. They are learning how to work together to solidify and extend their learning.
My Project
These materials will be used for students to work on a variety of activities including STEM investigations and regular collaborative classroom groups. Some STEM activities include solar ovens, ropes for waves and motion, lasers to investigate light. Cooperative group organization materials requested like testing privacy shields, clip boards, and materials organization boxes will make working with others easy. These materials have been picked with my students in mind and while planning for regular classroom activities as well as STEM investigations relating to the Utah SEE'd standards. These materials will help me enrich students' learning experiences at BHES.
