Help me give my students an iPad so that I am able to teach more interactively with the iboard in my classroom, allowing my lessons to be more dynamic for my students.
I am beyond fortunate to work in a district that nurtures relationships with students. I have an amazing group of diverse learners who have many strengths, but also need support in some areas.
My students have challenged me in a very positive way this year and have pushed me to continue to learn and grow.
I strive to set a positive example for them, as a lifelong learner.
I got a master's in teaching as a second career, after raising my own four children. I see in my own children their different needs as students, so I push myself to respond to the different needs of my classroom students to provide a more individualized classroom experience.
I love read-alouds and picture books, and I share this love with my students daily. We have a positive classroom environment where we work together and treat each other with kindness and respect.
My Project
I am dedicated to learning and growing. It's important to me to improve myself and know that I'm doing what I can, to provide engaging lessons for my students.
I currently have an iBoard in my classroom that isn't dynamic or engaging.
I can only write on it with one software program and have to upload everything to it. It's very time-consuming and ineffective. An iPad would allow me to be among my students and teaching with them, not at them. In addition, I would be able to mirror or present using anything from the iPad. This would allow me to use different software and sites to display for my students. The iPad gives me more freedom and flexibility than a desktop computer and mouse.
In addition, I am currently teaching from home amid school closures and an iPad would help with my lesson planning at home and would give me greater flexibility and ease of creating lessons. I have been taking a lot of professional development and tutorials on different software and applications for teaching remotely, and I'm committed to providing engaging lessons, even when we're not together.
