My Project

As a school counselor, I serve many students, from UTK to fifth grade. Social-emotional learning equips students to identify their emotions. Identifying emotions is the first step in learning coping mechanisms to control students' reactions. Students dealing with their feelings will lead to a safe and welcoming classroom environment.

Having a warm cozy space in my office will allow these students to engage better when they have to go back into the classroom.

Talking about emotions can be challenging for students of all ages.

Books, games, and snacks will give students the tools to engage them in lessons about their feelings. Meeting the students' basic foundational needs will help them better engage when they go back into the classroom environment.
