My Students

My second grade students are a good example of what it means to be a friend. They are often looking after each other and even myself. They are learning that taking care of each other creates a classroom where they are able to learn better and they are able to help each other. Along with this they have also learned when respect is needed and how they should act. They love learning, especially when it comes to technology. They are the sweetest class!

My Project

In 2nd grade we often use Chromebooks for our fluency and literacy activities. As we are still learning how to write and spell, it is helpful to have headphones that can record the students voices for some of their projects. However, this means that we need available headphones for each student. By doing these activities, students are more excited and willing to participate in the activities that we are working on in class. Headphones will also be used for online state and district testing. Magnifying glasses allow us to dig deeper into science and observe things easier than we can with our natural eye. By engaging students, they are more likely to participate and remember what they are learning. Hand sanitizer will be used to help keep students healthy and allow me to teach my students in a classroom setting rather than online. Having whiteboards will allow us to quickly practice and assess without consuming an enormous amount of paper products.

By allowing students to engage in hands on learning, they are more likely to participate and remember what they learned.

This is important because it helps them to be motivated and continue to push themselves even though what they are doing can be hard for them. Some strugglers have a hard time because of learning abilities while others have fallen behind because of online courses and absences due to COVID. It is my goal to catch them up and help them see that there are different ways of learning while helping them catch up. These resources will provide a more unique and needed learning ability for my students.
