Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a Special Education Teacher. I teach Daily Living Skills I. This course is designed to foster the growth of independent living skills.

Emphasis is placed upon self-awareness, health and self-care, social interaction, problem-solving, household, money management, and career awareness.

I pay my students play money that they are able to cash in for prizes bi-weekly in my student store. They learn about careers, and personal finances through this and how money is earned while learning how to break change. I have purchased my own items as a first-year teacher and would really use this help as the token economy in my classroom!
