My Project

I am the In School Suspension Instructor. Many of my students have experienced and are still experiencing trauma. Many live in poverty. They come in expecting a hostile environment and do not have the skills needed to process their emotions.

My mission is to build relationships with my students and teach them the skills they need to be successful.

I keep snacks and water bottles in my room for anyone that needs them. I provide various "fidgets" as well as coloring pages, mazes, word searches, etc to assist them in calming themselves. I respect them and expect respect from them. I give clear expectations and consequences. I check their grades and hold them accountable.
