Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The items I am asking for give a colorful, happy vibe to my room while creating a focused flow-state for all students. The headphones allow each child to hear the music they are making, the programs they are designing and entertaining audio that goes along with their coding games. Right now, they can barely hear anything over the others' projects because there are no personal audio solutions. The strip lights will be used to go around our smart boards to accent the visuals they see on screen. This hopefully creates an "ooooohhh ahhhhh" with the kids and also adds another teaching tool to show what creative programming can accomplish. Along with the headphones, the timers and dividers assist in classroom expectations and behaviors. If they know what to expect and become used to it, they develop daily patterns and fall right into their work because they know the routine. When all packaged the right way, these items allow the students' brains to enter flow-state; they become very engaged and enjoy what they are doing with an open, creative mind.
