Moving While Learning!
My students need balance ball chairs, bouncy bands, and balance boards because they thrive on movement through out the day along with choosing a location in the room that works best for them.
I have 20 wonderful 1st graders who all come from different backgrounds. All of my students love to move and have a choice in doing so. We work together as a family so that everyone is able to learn and move while doing so.
My students are very energetic and curious, and we love to use all of the different areas of our classroom!
My students love to wiggle and they enjoy exploring different ways to get the wiggles out while learning!
Being a teacher for a class full of 1st graders, I see firsthand how much difficulty they have stifling their enormous energy and sitting still during class. To help with this several of my students told me about the balance ball chairs they used in a different classroom and said it helped them focus. I discussed different possibilities with my students and they all expressed interest in being able to choose their seating area and especially to be able to move, or balance, while they work. After the discussion my students suggested balance ball chairs, boards, and bouncy bands for our classroom.
My students can choose for themselves how to expend energy while increasing their concentration.
All of the items will help increase my students balance, core strength and help them focus throughout the day.
This project will allow us to create an environment in which all students can pick the perfect spot for them and provide movement for the entire day.
