We use the machine during science to discuss how a liquid becomes a solid. The engineering of the machine has sparked their curiosity. We are the only class with a slushie machine. They were so excited! That is hundreds of student that have access to rich literature. We are going to compete in the district's Battle of the Books competition. This competition has students in grades 3-5 answer complex comprehension questions based on these books. Now we can begin preparing and have open access to the books. We have a club at our elementary school where we read these books and prepare for the competition by practicing the questions. We won the trophy 3 years ago and are working so hard to do well again this year! We are eternally grateful!
