Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I'm a 3rd grade Language Arts teacher in Houston, Texas. About 99% of my students are Title I which basically means they really don't have a ton of money. My students are also transitioning from Spanish to English which makes educating them a bit more challenging.
My class and school were greatly impacted by the effects of Hurricane Harvey.
We were one of 4 schools in my school district that lost everything. We have been relocated to a temporary location because my school needs to be demolished and rebuilt.
My Project
I am asking for these Ziploc & Sterilite Storage Boxes because they are more durable than the paper boxes we used last time we moved and will help my students take more responsibility in their learning environment.
I hope to use these more durable boxes to teach my students to take ownership of their learning because they will help me to collect and pack the learning centers they have been using during the year.
These Ziploc and Sterilite Storage Boxes will also help to teach my next year's students to take ownership of their learning by helping me to unpack the learning activities as we go through the school year.
