Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Students in my classroom come from low poverty-high trauma homes.
My school is a Title I school with all students receiving free breakfast and lunch. Most students in my class are raised by single parents or even grandparents who have to work multiple jobs just to make ends meet. Many have a parent that is currently incarcerated. Despite the obstacles in their lives, they come to school excited to learn and eager to succeed because school is their safe place.
My Project
We all want our students to have the best opportunities to learn, grow, and more importantly thrive; but do we really give them a learning environment that contributes? Students learn best by moving; I myself still learn best by moving. These stools will help students to still be able to move while sitting. It gives them an opportunity to work on balance, posture, and just get their wiggles out all while learning. With these stools students will be better able to concentrate on the lessons given and then on their work to be as successful as I know they are all capable of being. I want my students to have the opportunity to see and believe in themselves the way that I do.
