Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are an inner-city community school where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. In addition, our school is made up of a variety of cultural backgrounds. Regardless of their background and learning needs, our current fifth graders look forward to being promoted to 6th grade.

Our 5th class consists of 70 students who are excited to be promoted to middle school!

Financial support for our school is constantly changing because of budget cuts. However, the needs of our students aren't changing, which includes the need to recognize our current 5th graders and their accomplishments.

My Project

Our school only goes to 5th grade. As a result, at the end of the year, we hold a 5th Grade Promotion for all of our 5th graders. However, due to the the unknown and safety protocols, we are preparing in advance to make our 5th Grade Promotion a success regardless of where we celebrate our students. The promotion certificates and certificate holders will be given to each student as they walk across the stage in person or virtually to be recognized. The coin envelopes will hold the tickets that will be given to the parents. The sunglasses and stress balls will be placed in the gift bags and given to each student to remind them that their future is bright!

This promotion ceremony may not change the world, but it is definitely important to our 5th graders. This will be a memorable event for not only the 5th graders but their families as well. This is a family event to recognize the academic success of our 5th graders.
