I teach an amazing group of bilingual second graders. In our classroom, we learn breathing techniques, how to be kind, responsible, persevere when facing hardships, problem-solving, and how to take care of our world, its resources, and the fauna and flora.
I believe every child has the ability to learn and be successful.
It is our responsibility to support our children to the best of our abilities, both for their value as human beings, and because they are the future leaders of the world.
My Project
I have chosen multiple seating options such as balance balls, wobble chairs, wobble cushions, comfy floor seats, and student lap desks so that my students will have agency in their learning environment.
During independent work, they will be able to pick their own flexible seating options in order to get more comfortable and focus as best as possible!
Ideally I'll be able to eventually have an option for every single one of my 21 students.
I believe all children have the capacity to learn and be successful. Having flexible seating options in our classroom will definitely show a marked improvement in their behavior, concentration, and therefore performance.
