Moving, Collaborating, and Learning in History

My students need a more mobile learning space! Block periods are 100 minutes, and students often times feel restricted. By giving them adjustable desks with wheels, they will be able to collaborate more easily!

My Students

My students go to CHS, and are from a community that values academic and athletic success. They are from a very large school with almost 3,000 students. Because of this large group, my students are diverse in background and identities. They signed up for Global Studies because of an interest in Human Rights and project based learning! They aim to encourage an environment of critical thinking and productive conversations. My classroom is attempting to shift from a complete set of traditional desks to a mix of individual desks and naturally collaborative spaces.

Enthusiastic and engaged; my students are ready to work in a space that will allow them to collaborate and create with other minds.

Individual desks are difficult to move around when getting into groups. They limit the mobility of the student within the desk. And they're not ideal for collaborative spaces. They're designed for individual work. By acquiring these tables, it will change the vibe of the classroom. It'll allow students to really feel as though the classroom is a space to collectively learn and grow as a group.

My Project

These adjustable and mobile desks will make a world of a difference in my classroom for all types of students. By donating, you will not only help increase student engagement and collaboration, you will ultimately help increase their academic success.

Flexible seating will teach students that their learning is not always bound to a traditional seat, but that their learning can be as creatively configured and active as they want it to be!

I believe in transforming a student's learning experience by providing them a comfortable, creative, open, and modern environment to learn and grow in, and ultimately give back to.
