My Students

My students are not boring. They are humorous hard workers. My students are eager learners. Most struggle with reading and writing. Many of these children are identified as students with developmental delays and specific disabilities. Each child has unique academic and social-emotional needs.

My students amaze me with their individual approaches to the class lessons every day.

Their personalities shine moment to moment. We all laugh and enjoy those moments one task at a time.

My co-teacher and I teach in the inclusion classroom. We both share responsibility for all of our children. If you walk into our room tomorrow you will not be able to identify me as the special education teacher and her as the general education teacher. We walk seamlessly through our instruction to best meet the needs of all our children.

My Project

The Adjustable Height Desk will help my students achieve academic success. I will be able to better incorporate kinesthetic learning in my lessons. My students will be able to utilize movement to learn during instruction. I will be able to stand, model movement, and deliver instruction. We will utilize movement to act out action words, verbs. We will play charades to guess the verb. My students will benefit greatly from the ability to physically move in the virtual environment. They will learn by doing! Movement is a necessary break from screen time during distance learning.
