My Students

We are a third grade team of 4 teachers and 80 students. Our students are energetic and excited to learn. We are blessed with diverse classrooms, with children from all walks of life: English learners, native English speakers, gifted students, those with learning disabilities and special needs, and those without. They are ALL kind, curious, and joyful.

They are all special and deserving of the best education we can possibly give them!

These students love to work together in groups and help each other during lessons. They long for opportunities to move around the room and get their brains popping. We want to help these unique and diverse learners reach their full potential and succeed!

My Project

Currently when our students walk into the classroom, they are met with boring desks and chairs. No variety or excitement! Sitting in desks and chairs limits the community building that students need in the classroom. We believe the students will benefit from flexible seating for the following reasons: it gives students choice and some control over their environment, it provides kinesthetic movement through wobbling, bouncing, leaning, and standing. Flexible seating can provide a more comfortable area than desks and chairs.

Flexible seating can help students foster a closer sense of community in the classroom by allowing them to work closer together and in different areas throughout the day.

We believe that these seating options will help students become more enthusiastic and engaged in learning.
