Currently when our students walk into the classroom, they are met with boring desks and chairs. No variety or excitement! Sitting in desks and chairs limits the community building that students need in the classroom. We believe the students will benefit from flexible seating for the following reasons: it gives students choice and some control over their environment, it provides kinesthetic movement through wobbling, bouncing, leaning, and standing. Flexible seating can provide a more comfortable area than desks and chairs. Flexible seating can help students foster a closer sense of community in the classroom by allowing them to work closer together and in different areas throughout the day. We believe that these seating options will help students become more enthusiastic and engaged in learning.
