My Project

I would love to help my students find their voices and speak to their peers and community about how to best help them achieve academic success, personal growth and financial stability. Lived experiences and life lessons have led these young black students growing up in poverty stricken areas and those known to have experienced trauma and undue hardships to want to encourage their peers and others to have a progressive mindset. I serve students in underrepresented areas at an alternative school. Sometimes the best therapy and path to healing not only yourself but others is to speak about it under the guidance and leadership of trained professionals. We have a high number of teen mothers and students who had to walk down a janky path to provide for their families. Having the listed items, such as a speaker system, voice amplifier, stands, books, would give them the resources and tools to be able to tell their story and motivate others by creating the best organized story of a lifetime. In my entrepreneurship class, my goal is to teach students how they can take care of themselves which ultimately means that they can take care of their families and community in a positive way.
