Motivation Through Desk Pets

Help me give my students desk pets, 3D animal mini-erasers, and habitats that students can keep at their desks or workstations as an incentive for: positive student behavior, classwork motivation, and homework completion.

My Project

My fourth and fifth grade students will be able to work towards earning their very own desk pet (mini animal eraser), desk pet home (storage container), desk pet food (mini food erasers), and desk pet accessories based on student's positive behavior and points earned in the classroom.

Students will be able to purchase desk pet items from our classroom store with the PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Support) points they earn in the classroom modeling good behavior.

The mini animals, food, and accessory erasers will stock the classroom store and allow students to have something to be motivated about and want to work toward. Additionally, the desk pet homes will allow students to make their desk pets uniquely their own. The cardstock will be used to print their adoption certificates and allow students to name their desk pets.
