Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

The ultimate goal of our reading program is to grow one hundred percent in a year. This is a huge goal for my students!

In order to help them grow, and not become frustrated, I break the goals down into smaller increments.

When they reach twenty-five percent growth, I reward them with a water bottle. When they reach fifty percent growth, I reward them with a cinch bag, and when they reach seventy-five percent growth, I reward them with a T-shirt. I like to give my students prizes at each level to help keep them motivated.
