Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are resilient! Most have learned English as their second language. As middle school students, they are still working to become proficient in reading English. They show up every day and do their best to improve their reading skills.

My students are caring!

Many of my students help care for their siblings before or after school. They look out for their friends and other students at school. They are patient with me as I do my best to provide them with what they need in reading class.

My Project

With all the stress and anxiety brought on (and dragging on and on) with the pandemic, my students need extra incentives to keep going. I am requesting incentive and reward items as well as fidget items to motivate and calm my students. I am also requesting some Skull Candy headsets to use with our instructional programs as students are not able to share personal contact items during the pandemic to avoid Covid transmission.

Despite the ongoing stress in dealing with all the pandemic has and continues to bring, my students want to succeed.

Even in the face of difficulties these students keep giving me their best in the classroom. I wish to reward them and to offer incentives to motivate them to keep going.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
