Motivating Students to Earn Awards and Finish 2021-2022 Strong!

My Students

I work in an awesome school district with second-grade students who demonstrate amazing dedication and passion for learning each and every day. Their love of learning inspires me to go above and beyond my traditional teaching duties on a daily basis. I want to give them all of the learning experiences and opportunities that I can. My students come from a school district with over half of its population coming from low-income homes.

I am truly amazed that my students, who are coming from situations that do not always provide them opportunities to make learning easy, are joining my online sessions ready to engage in learning opportunities and soon will attend school in person.

Their motivation makes me want to make sure they have everything they need to be successful. I want to make sure each student has the materials including a healthy snack and is ready to learn.

My Project

I am requesting awards, medals and neck ribbons so we can end this year with a Success Celebration. This school year we have four math fact goals that each student has been working hard to achieve over the school year. The four math goals are addition, subtraction, mixed addition and subtraction and multiplication. To move through the goals the children will have to answer 60 math facts on a weekly assessment in two minutes. These assessments are not for a grade but for motivation to learn their math facts quicker and better. The medals will help me continue to motivate and challenge my students to stay dedicated to learning their math facts!

I want to motivate my children to finish the year strong by knowing their math facts and earning a medal at the end of the year Award Ceremony.

My goal for this project is to provide each student with the motivation to earn a math medal and accomplish a goal! The students are motivated to earn medals! Their hard work and dedication to learning their math facts would be rewarded with these medals and ribbons.

In addition to the math medals, this project will also fund medals for my students who meet their reading, Science goals and citizenship goals.
