My students represent the best of the best we could hope for our future. They are bright, creative, confident, and compassionate. They come from families rich in culture and strong in values, creating an environment of love both in my school building and in their local community. Every day at school is a day where we all come together to grow and develop as better humans together.
As their teacher, I foster their strengths, support their needs, and prepare them for global citizenship.
I can identify their talents and abilities, but it is dramatically more powerful when they come to see their own strength on their own. In an effort to support this self-exploration and independence, I aim to create a learning environment that fosters strategic thinking and problem-solving​ skills.
My Project
My students absolutely love having morning tubs to use the first thing when they come to school. The tools they currently have allow them to work independently, in partnerships, or in small groups, which provide many opportunities for social interaction and problem-solving. And as the year has progressed, I've seen how their imaginations ignite when they have flexible tools to express their creativity.
By supplying more materials for students to use such as games and art supplies, my kindergartners will be able to maintain excitement and engagement for their academic growth.
These tools are open-ended, flexible and open to many uses, which I hope will inspire students to continue applying their creativity to everything they do!
