Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The following items will be used for my current and future students to be actively engaged in STEAM learning activities. They deserve a tranquil morning that sets the tone for their day. All the items will be shared with the students so they can engage in play and building community with each other. These activities will offer the students to engage in STEAM in a comfortable setting.

Play is central to how children learn, and my goal of these morning activities is to infuse play in an intentional way into my students' day.

It teaches the kids the value of rules and relationships, as well as fostering creativity and problem-solving. Although third grade is early childhood, there are far too few opportunities for students to engage in unstructured play and therefore exercise their agency.

My hope is these playful moments are a catalyst for learning as students begin their day with joy while interacting with others and trying out new ideas. This is a great casual, yet fun and educational way to start the day.
