My Students

My third graders in Indianapolis are SO happy to be back into the classroom after months of e-learning due to COVID. My students are thoughtful, inquisitive, and excited about learning! Our highly diverse school provides great opportunities for students to learn about each other and the world around them.

My Project

When my students arrive at school each day, I want to offer them the opportunity to play! For the first 5-10 minutes of each school day, students will engage with classmates. Morning choice games, STEM activities, and creative play materials will allow my students to create authentic community each morning. This will set them up for a successful day of learning!

Students rarely have time for exploratory play, so by providing this opportunity daily, in a safe environment, students will grow in relationship-building skills, conflict management, and creativity.

With these materials, students will learn new games and connect with classmates. All students have a chance to be included and engaged, thus setting the tone for a fantastic day.
