This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

"Students learn by doing. Hands-on science encourages the children to DO something – observe, ask questions, touch, smell, experiment. Students must learn about animal life cycles."- Mary Catherine

As a teacher, it is my duty to help my students see the bigger picture throughout the curriculum.

I want to start allowing my students more opportunities to explore STEAM in our classroom during our free exploration time and outside at recess. Throughout my teaching career I have collected a few STEAM hands-on materials such as building blocks, foam alphabet puzzles, straw construction kit, Mega blocks and Lincoln logs. Usually, students have to wait until I pull them out from the cupboards onto the floor so they can access all the STEAM activities. This causes students to lose valuable exploring time among their classmates.

To make things easier, I am requesting a one shelf storage cabinet to help me store and organize the STEAM activities and a 3-tier storage cart that is the perfect height for my students to roll out for recess time. We can place our recess and outside STEAM materials on the shelves and students can access them quick and easy.
