As a teacher in a Title I school, many of my students come from poverty stricken, low-income homes. Some also are learning English as a second language and others have special needs. All of my students receive free breakfast and lunch at school. Some of my students live in a shelter or motels. Others are living with other families.
Despite these difficult circumstances, my students come to school eager to learn and explore.
They are fascinated with the new activities, opportunities, and experiences that I can provide for them. They have so much love to share with me and with each other. I want to be able to give them every opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.
My Project
I am asking for a computer desk for my classroom. I need a desktop computer to use my smart board and document camera. It is currently sitting on my teacher desk, which is way too big and takes up a lot of space. I would like to get rid of it and replace it with this computer desk.
The wheeled computer desk will let me move it as needed which gives me a lot of flexibility in rearranging my room to best help my students.
Additionally, I need a new laminator. The one I currently have has been recalled due to some of them catching on fire or melting. Safety for my students is my biggest priority and I do not feel comfortable having my old laminator around them in case something should happen. Please help me keep my students safe with a new laminator and give them as much space as possible for learning by replacing my teacher desk with the computer desk.
