My Project
Many of our students are preschool through fifth grade Deaf and Hard of Hearing students with some additional special needs. The isolation from their hearing loss has been compounded by the physical isolation due to COVID protocols. With the number of cases decreasing, we have more opportunities for joining with other students on campus. Clear window face masks will help our students see their friends smiles and, in some, cases speech read. They will also help our students see the smiles of the adults they meet on campus.
Recess is a great time to interact with friends old and new.
Many of our, few, pieces of outdoor play equipment are old, so refreshing them with more new scooters will make recess more fun for the whole class. While inside the classroom, having a physical partition will allow our younger students to independently explore more of the classroom safely.
