This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students have a 30 minute block for gross motor time in the gym during winter. They do not have access to a playground and are in need of more opportunities to move, explore, and release energy during gross motor time. Right now, our gym is limited to hula hoops and rubber balls, which makes it difficult to engage all learners in meaningful physical activity. Many of my students learn best when they can move their bodies, and without enough options, excess energy often carries over into the classroom.

Scooters would give my students a safe, fun, and engaging way to build strength, coordination, and balance while burning off energy in a positive way.

When students are able to move during structured gross motor play, they return to class calmer, more focused, and ready to learn. Your support would directly impact their ability to attend to lessons, participate positively, and succeed academically.
