Whole group instruction is an important part of our daily routine. It is how we set the stage for learning: introducing new material; building on the previous day's lessons; and building a supportive community of learners in my classroom.
The teacher easel I am asking for will allow me to conduct effective morning meetings and to make whole group instruction / learning fun, interesting and attainable by all. Whole group instruction comes with its challenges but a teacher can succeed with the right equipment. Having a wide easel such as this will allow me to place ALL of the relevant materials/visuals my students need in order make connections and process the information being presented.
As an early childhood teacher I value teaching in all modalities and I value repetition. I must make reference to prior learning in previous lessons in order for children to build connections and solidify their grasp of content. This is called schemata. This easel will positively impact my instruction in all subject areas by allowing me to reach all the students effectively. Visibility will no longer be compromised nor visuals removed due to the lack of space.
