Hello! I am a teacher in Baltimore, MD. My students range from grades Pre-Kindergarten to 5th grade. I have some wonderful students who love music. My students are hard working and dedicated and will put the time into learning pieces of music to perform for school programs for classmates, family, and the community.
My elementary students love playing instruments especially the Orff instruments in class.
I have an Orff ensemble that I would love to expand! The Orff ensemble consists of about 10 students but we would love to add more and need more instruments. They play in a winter holiday and spring recital on their own as well as accompany the choir.
Every year I have more students who want to join the Orff ensemble at school. We need more quality instruments for these students. The Orff ensemble (grades 3-5) meets after school and gives students a chance to express their musical intellect thus developing the whole child.
Studies have shown that students who develop their musical intellect do better in other subjects than students who may not have musical training.
Also, Orff club allows students to interact in a positive way and develops their self-esteem!
My students love coming to Orff ensemble to practice and perform music. Parents enjoy listening to their children perform interesting world music pieces on these beautiful xylophones and metallophones. The community wants to see these children doing something positive and loved listening to the beautiful sounds of the instruments. For these reasons, we are requesting 3 Diatonic Alto Xylophones with mallets.
