Mrs. Kolayemi from East Boston MA is requesting instructional technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students headphones for individualized video learning. With the prevalence of wireless headphones and iPhone-specific headphones, most of my students can no longer use their own personal headphones for learning in my classroom.

My students are new to high school science and excited to learn what physics can tell them about the world. They have a wide range of background knowledge in science and varying levels of proficiency in English language. Hence, they often need to move at difference paces through the materials presented.
75% of my students are from low-income families, 75% of my school's student population is Latino and 40% of our students are English language learners.
My students are passionate, curious and hardworking learners. I teach 9th graders at the Freshman Academy at my school. The Freshman Academy is doing an excellent job of creating a positive school culture that is conducive to learning and growing academically, socially, and emotionally.
There are lot of video resources to help students learn physics concepts. There are also a lot of apps that allow teachers to personalize learning resources and adapt them to students' needs.
As we move through physics concepts this year, I am discovering that my students come with such a wide range English proficiency and background knowledge in science, and therefore, they do not learn new materials at the same pace.
I am experimenting with different ways to help support all students. One method of meeting students' individual needs that I have found effective is through video resources. I use an app that allows me to insert questions throughout physics concept videos, track how students respond to the questions and see how many times they playback each part of the video, in order to assess their understanding of the concepts presented in the videos.
Thankfully, I have computers and tablets that can be used for these video lessons in class. However, in a class of 30 students, I need a few other resources to make this successful. I need a class set of headphones for my students to use during these video lessons.
I am looking forward to all the ways that individualized learning through videos will help support my students' growth this year.
