My Students

I teach 12th-grade students the topics of personal finance. Personal finance is a vital topic to discuss with this age group as they are making loan, credit, and other financial decisions and are about to head into the real world as young adults.

My students are developing the skills to have a successful financial future.

My students are eager to learn these skills and become more informed consumers. My classroom is a flexible environment where students have the opportunity to work in various settings based on their learning style and learning target.

My Project

Cooperative learning is a key element in my classroom. I was fortunate enough to receive a grant to add flexible seating into my classroom. My classroom is amazing, however, one element that is missing is my ability to join a student group and work more closely with students. The purchase of a Hokki stool will allow me to travel around the room and sit with other students as they work. It will also allow students to work in larger groups by grabbing a stool to collaborate with others. The headphone purchase supports the concept of flexible seating as my classroom is very much a blended environment. Collaboration is key, but individual learning and exploration is also incorporated.
