Help me give my students more options with flexible seating with fun and unique stools and other seating options that will allow them to express themselves and offer a unique choice not received during the rest of their school day.
My students are high achieving, interesting individuals who are pursuing their passion in my business and economics classroom. They want to learn how the world works and what they need to know in terms of managing their money after high school. Near NYC, my students are exposed to rich culture and diversity.
My students look for a non-traditional classroom setting to match their non-traditional lives.
My students go on to do great things all around the world, but always remember where they came from.
My Project
In a real world and project based classroom, students feel more productive when they can choose how they work. Flexible seating empowers students to make a choice and work in the setting that is most productive for them.
The large comfortable bean-bag style stool I am requesting will be perfect in my corner for students who prefer to do solo work.
The requested stools will provide alternative seating to the traditional chairs. Additionally, when we do group work and small discussions, having extra chairs and stools around is important to collaborative, and students can easily pull up a stool and join the conversation.
I am also asking for a large easel pad so my students can capture their discussions and ideas and share them with the group. These big poster papers will be spread around the tables and room for spontaneous student ideas.
This project sets the tone. I do things differently and I want my students to know this right away. They're about to go on a journey with me.
Students value the few options I already have in my room. Seeing the high demand for comfortable seating, and seeing how responsible they have been with a few flexible seating options, I want to provide more resources for them.
