My Students
I teach at a Title I school with several ELL students. My students come from diverse backgrounds with the majority from high poverty situations. Many come from large families. Most have no or limited technology. My students enjoy school and love learning. As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, these students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. My classroom is full of wonderful, and eager third graders, who deserve the best.
My students deserve the best education possible no matter their background and I strive to give it to them.
They do not always have the extra support and materials at home, but they are eager to try their best. But, they need your help! Instruction is rigorous and the students are held accountable for their learning. If you would like to play a part in their education, and help shape their future, then check out our projects.
My Project
We are looking for more books that will be added to our classroom library. These books are for the children to read during our reading workshop time. Children spend about 30 minutes reading independently each and every day. These new books will keep my third graders engaged by providing new book choices.
Engaged readers are growing readers!
We will explore fairy tales, fictional, and nonfiction books In addition, we will also love to add leveled books to our classroom library and audio books with head phones for our reading center. These books will be kept in our classroom library or centers, and then students can explore these new books at their individual reading level and interest during their independent and reading center times.
Help us read more fluently by having more choices . The more fluently we read; the more we will understand; the more we understand the more successful we will be! Success in reading will bring success in other areas of our education! Fluency will make us Fabulous Readers! Thanks for taking the time to read our project.
