My students need Montessori materials to learn about the world they live in. The children will remember what they are learning by using concrete materials.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Experience is the best teacher! When children get to touch, see and manipulate educational materials they remember the lessons they are learning and they will remember for a long time because they have a concrete image implanted in their brains.
My class is in the inner city where the children come from poor working families.
This year my class consists of 24 children: 18 boys and 6 girls. Many of the children speak another language at home including Spanish, Creole or Portuguese. The children love using the hands on materials we have in the class. They are focused, quiet, share and treat the materials as something special.
My Project
These new materials can teach the children about Math, Science, Geography, and Language. The children will have the chance to use and experience concretely the lessons these materials can teach them. By using concrete materials, the children will remember what they have learned because they will have a picture in their minds. This is such a great way for children to learn.
The educational materials will give these children an opportunity of a lifetime.
They are such a nice group of children who would benefit greatly by using educational manipulatives in the classroom.
