In today's rapidly changing world, financial literacy has become an essential skill for success.
Our project aims to equip marketing students and CCHS DECA members with the knowledge and tools needed to educate their peers about financial literacy through various engaging mediums.
My students plan to engage their peers through relatable ways such as social media posts. A camera is requested to create informative and interactive social media posts on Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. These posts will cover topics such as budgeting, saving, investing, and more. Students will use a laptop to produce a student-led podcast where students can share their experiences and insights. This podcast will serve as a platform for discussions, interviews, and expert advice on managing money effectively. My Fashion, Retail, and Merchandising students have developed a clothing line called Sevyn Figures and its purpose is to promote financial literacy and inspire students, we will design and produce a T-shirt and hoodie apparel line. These T-shirts will feature motivational quotes related to financial success, serving as a conversation starter and reminder of the importance of financial literacy. Heat transfer vinyl will be needed to create the shirts with unique designs. Students will create monthly newspapers for students to cover topics such as budgeting, saving, investing, credit management, and entrepreneurship. A case of paper is requested to print multiple copies of newsletters. During this unit, marketing students will game boards to create fun games for peers to play and learn about financial literacy.
Lastly, students help provide representatives from local businesses, and financial institutions, and successful entrepreneurs will be invited to share their experiences and provide guidance. Money Speaks at the Creek will empower students to take control of their financial futures by creating engaging content, providing educational resources, and organizing events that will benefit our students and community.
