Your generosity has already made a difference for my students. The new color printer allows me to create visual, hands-on resources that meet my students at their individual learning levels and give them additional ways to understand concepts that may be difficult through traditional instruction alone.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments was watching my students use a color-coded number line that I created and printed to help them add and subtract positive and negative integers. Instead of simply being told a rule to memorize, they were able to point to the numbers, move left or right on the number line, work through problems together, and receive support when needed. The colors helped distinguish positive and negative numbers and gave my students a visual reference they could return to as they worked. This is exactly what I envisioned when I created this project—being able to recognize a need and immediately create a resource to help my students succeed.\r\n\r\nI look forward to continuing to create individualized academic supports, visual aids, organizational tools, and learning resources that encourage greater independence and confidence. Your generosity provided much more than a printer; it gave me the ability to turn an idea into a resource my students can hold, see, and use. We took our new books to an elementary school, where my students had the opportunity to read aloud to younger children and share snacks with them. What started as books and snacks became an opportunity for learning, confidence building, and service!\r\n\r\nThis experience was especially meaningful because some of my students read below their current grade level. The books gave them an opportunity to practice important literacy skills such as reading fluency, pronunciation, vocabulary, comprehension, and reading with expression. Even more importantly, they were able to practice reading publicly in front of a younger and less intimidating audience. Instead of focusing on what reading level they were on, they were able to focus on being the \"big kids\" reading to the younger students. That gave them a chance to experience success and build confidence in themselves as readers.\r\n\r\nI loved watching my students step into that role. They weren't just completing a reading assignment—they were using their reading skills to connect with someone else. After reading together, we were also able to share the snacks provided through our project, making the experience feel even more like a special time of fellowship and community.
